We need more of these afternoons...and they need to come to the suburbs. It was fun going to a neighborhood downtown, but it was a 30-40 minute drive. Saint Charles did something simliar on the riverfront a couple weeks ago and had a ton of people, but they might do it again NEXT April. It shouldn't take that long to plan. If anyone reads this with some authority in St. Charles, MO...please help food trucks hang-out near Main Street more often.
It's a wonderful, communal way to spend time. We talked a bit with the people at the table who we didn't know (and will probably never see again) and just relaxed. Time slowed down with good food and good music. As much as I love watching sports at a bar and grill or enjoying a quiet meal at a restaurant, the outdoor experience is a lot better. Personally, I really hope that this type of Food Truck event happens more often and especially more often in the suburbs. They don't always need to take place in a city.
If you can support activities like this, please do so. The more people show-up and spend money, the more the community-building events will occur.
